Call out for Volunteers.

We have a few events over the Art SOAK weekend that still need volunteer support.  They are

Saturday 23 March 2013

Support visual artists (Sarah Taylor Silverwood http://www.sarahsilverwood.com OR Lorna Rose http://www.lornarose.co.uk OR Andrew Tims) delivering workshops in a number of locations, helping to set up the space for workshops,  assisting with helping participants to take part in the workshop, asking participants (or parents of participants) to complete very short evaluation forms, keeping head count of participants, helping to clear up afterwards.   A minimum of 2 hours volunteering would help us or for people who can offer longer that would be great.  Workshops located at Druids Heath Library, Yardley Wood Library and Billesley School.  Workshops start at 10am.
Hinterland – Tom Cahill Jones
We are looking for strong volunteers to help artist Tom Cahill Jones put his installation together.  This is a wooden structure that comes in panels and will be set up on the verge next to the junction of Hunts Road and Hazelwell Lane, Stirchley.  Volunteers required 9.00am – 12noon.
Volunteers also required to dismantle and store – 6pm – 7.30pm.
We will also need volunteers throughout the day to assist Tom to run the installation, help to collect peoples stories (recording) and collect data and evaluation information.  Installation runs from 1 – 6pm. Ideally 1.5 hour stints here would be helpful.
Sunday 24 March
Support jewellery artist Jolene Smith at Billesley Indoor Tennis Centre to run workshops 2pm – 4.30pm with set up from 1.15pm.   Duties will include assisting with helping participants to take part in the workshop, asking participants (or parents of participants) to complete very short evaluation forms, keeping head count of participants, helping to clear up afterwards.   A minimum of 2 hours volunteering would help us for the duration of this workshop that would be great.

OR if you fancy volunteering elsewhere in the programme do get in touch!  We are keen to meet enthusiastic and friendly volunteers to help out.

Volunteers will be the lynchpin between the artistic activity and the audience and participants, supporting the artists and acting as a contact for the venues and hosts as well as undertaking a crucial role in collecting data and other information.
