As part of Birmingham City Council’s Arts Champions scheme, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra is launching a new community choir for residents of Selly Oak Constituency. As well as encouraging people to enjoy singing, the Choir will bring members of the local community together and provide a chance to get to know each other in a relaxed environment.
If you sing your socks off in the shower or croon in the car, and live in Selly Oak Constituency, why not join this exciting new choir?
You don’t need any prior singing experience, you don’t need to be able to read music, and you certainly don’t need to have the world’s greatest voice! There are no auditions and it’s free to join. Everyone can sing: you just need enthusiasm – and to be willing to give it a go.
The choir is open all residents of the Selly Oak, Bournville, Brandwood and Billesley wards aged 18 or over, and will be led by the CBSO’s inspirational singing leader Matt Beckingham.
If you’re interested, why not come to the “Come and Sing” day in TASCOS, Stirchley, B30 2PT on Saturday 3 December 2011. There’s no obligation – just a chance to find out what it’s all about, have a sing in friendly surroundings, and see if it’s for you.
