The Steampunk November Nocturne

Event organiser Linzi has asked us to spread the word about this event coming up at the weekend in Stirchley: The Roadhouse will be playing host to a music night with a difference on Sunday 13th November…The Steampunk November Nocturne: four bands, from Kings Heath, the Black Country, Derbyshire and London; and a variety of traders dealing in handmade and custom built items, all in a Steampunk style…all for £5, tickets available on the door, or in advance from the Roadhouse website (www.theroadhouserocks.com). Doors 6.30pm.

On the same day, there will be the chance to meet the publisher and authors of Tales from the Asylum and Beyond the Asylum (steampunk compilations). The Last Line cordially invites you to meet the publisher and writers of the steampunk compilations Tales from the Asylum, and Beyond the Asylum, Sunday 13th November, 12:00 – 4:00, at Nostalgia and Comics, Birmingham.  Free entry.

Steampunk literature has evolved out of HG Wells and Lovecraft, through KW Jeter and Tim Powers, to writers like Robert Rankin, Sam Stone and more. The Last Line’s publications are both written and published by steampunks – for steampunks.

This is your chance to come and talk to publisher/ writer Arkwright, and to other contributers (including, from Kings Heath, LM Cooke, who contributed to both volumes) to learn more about steampunk, and to hear the stories for yourself….
